Woman Smiling in Yellow Victorian Dress in Spring Flower Field

Sunlight in My Hair, Spring in My Step

I didn’t plan to feel this light—I just stepped into the garden wearing yellow, and suddenly everything bloomed with me. The cherry blossoms overhead were like soft confetti, and the bluebonnets swayed as if they knew I’d come. I smiled without meaning to. It felt like the earth was smiling back.

My dress fluttered in the breeze like it had its own joy to share. I’ve always loved how yellow feels—like warmth, like laughter, like a hug from the sun. And today, it matched the mood perfectly. The trees were blooming, yes, but so was I.

There’s something about spring that makes me feel timeless. Maybe it’s the way the air smells like beginnings, or how the light catches my hair and turns it into gold. I felt like a painting—Victorian maybe, but with a twist of wild freedom. My long hair danced behind me, and I let it. I didn’t need to tame anything today.

Nature therapy? I call it remembering. Remembering how good it feels to be part of something soft and alive. The flowers didn’t ask me to be anything but happy. And I was.

I think this is what joy looks like: a yellow dress, a blooming tree, and a heart wide open.
